2D to 3D STEREOSCOPIC CONVERSION
2D to 3D Stereoscopic Conversion
High quality, 2D to 3D stereoscopic conversions are completely indistinguishable from material shot in stereo (sometimes called “native 3D”). We have set up our Digital Laboratories so that people can compare footage that is shot in 3SD and converted. Typically, a high quality conversion should cost add 5-10% to a 2D feature film budget.
The best 2D to 3D stereoscopic conversions are part art and part science which explains why only a few companies succeed in producing high quality conversions. Our clients’ Testimonials say more than we could about our work.
Whilst we are equally happy to shooting in stereo 3D, conversions offer many advantages because they offer creative opportunities and cost advantages that shooting in native 3D is simply unable to provide. Furthermore, “native 3D” presents special challenges (see 3D Post-Production) and frequently the only way to fix the footage is to use the techniques used in conversion which is why the ability to convert to the highest standard is an integral part of any stereographer’s skill set.
All we know is that when people watch our show reel, they become converts ! Check out our Testimonials and Contact us to arrange a demo.
